For bath soap, different shapes can be incorporated in the machine. About 78 of the soap is made of total fatty matter (TFM) soap noodles. As the percentage of TFM decreases, so does the quality of the soap. Though today's soap no longer has any lye in it, most bath soaps have a slight amount of excess alkali.
